With a constant desire to blend excitement, travel, adventure, hiking, back-country excursions, and social community in one of the greatest outdoor playgrounds on earth we’ve created Alaska FishTopia.

Alaska FishTopia is the premier fishing, adventure, information and entertainment app in Alaska. Launched in the summer of 2017, Alaska Fishtopia became one of the top 10 downloaded apps throughout the state.

And we’re not stopping there! Constantly under improvement and packed full of new features, benefits, and more, we’re looking to grow the success we’ve started.

One-part technology company, and one-part outdoor adventure company Alaska FishTopia has its sights well beyond the Alaska Market as well and will be expanding beyond Alaska in the early parts of 2021.


About the role

It’s time to blend a little excitement with your career for a summer, season or year-round! This job will be modified, written, rewritten, and entirely defined for the right person. This position could be full-time, could be an internship, or seasonal summer part-time. For the right candidate, the sky is the limit.

Whether you love the water (canoe, kayak, white-water, river fishing, salt-water fishing), the mountains (climbing, hiking, skiing), or outdoor adventure (tours, wilderness, fly-out trips, beaches), you’ll find plenty of adventure here.


Your job will literally(!) be to adventure as much as possible, while representing Alaska FishTopia to businesses, customers, sponsors, marketing events, community gatherings and more.

It’s not an accident that “Do Adventure” is listed as one of the top responsibilities for the job. We want you out fishing, doing fly-outs, hiking, climbing glaciers, and more. And getting paid to do it!

Business Development - Sales

In the places, you travel and the people you meet, help to sign up sponsors and partners helping to define and develop our business-to-business strategy

  • Sign up guides and charters to participate in the app

  • Identify, develop, and grow our sponsorship base

  • Organize and manage the participation of Alaska FishTopia in marketing events throughout the state such as fairs, festivals, tradeshows, fishing derbies and more

Social Media

There is a very strong social media component to Alaska FishTopia. The app is directly tied into Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and all forms of social media.

We would like all these travels and adventures to be promoted through the social media aspects of our company and our app.

Encourage, develop, and grow the social media user base.

Content Management  

One of the great features of Alaska FishTopia is we help people find out what’s going on around the state. Including live music, festivals, fairs, and other high production value events Alaska FishTopia helps everyone find something special going on in their area. Helping to locate and manage this content will be one of the additional responsibilities.

Manage, develop, and promote Alaska FishTopia give-away programs

Alaska FishTopia already has a large number of sponsors throughout the state. Our sponsors represent some of the most reputable sporting goods retailers in the world and some of Alaska’s premier restaurants and other businesses. They include Sportsman’s Warehouse, Simon & Seafort’s, Ken’s Alaska Tackle, Semper Sharp Custom Knives, Louie’s Steak and Seafood, Alaska Boat Rental & Fishing Academy and more.

Each of these sponsors have given prizes and discounts totaling into the ten’s of thousands of dollars. And we’ll be giving away these prizes almost daily all summer long.  They include fishing trips, lures, gift cards and more. 

About you

  • Must be able to travel extensively throughout the state during the summer months from approximately mid-May to Mid-Sept - and look forward to doing it!

  • A passion for all things Outdoor and Alaska

  • Outgoing personally – no introverts here please!

  • High Energy

  • Professional appearance

  • Intelligent, curious, thoughtful, compassionate

  • Able to handle a conversation with a successful business owner one-day and roughing it on an adventure the next

  • Must absolutely be articulate in all forms of verbal & written communication



The ideal candidate would ideally bring an expert level to at least one of the attributes below:

  • Extremely comfortable with social marketing such as instagram, facebook, twitter

  • Ability to use photoshop or other tools to create posts and content

  • Marketing and business development

  • Expert level at a variety of Alaska outdoor adventuring

  • Personal connections throughout the state of Alaska with businesses

  • 4 year degree or working on one

  • Experience as a social media influencer
